Method
- In a large bowl, combine the chopped celery and diced apples.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, sugar (or honey/maple syrup), salt, and pepper.
- Pour the dressing over the celery and apple mixture. Gently stir to coat evenly.
- Add the chopped walnuts/pecans and dried cranberries/raisins, if using. Stir to combine.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. (Optional: chill for up to 2 hours).
- Serve the salad chilled, either on its own or over lettuce leaves. Enjoy!
Notes
For a lighter version, use Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise.
